“Most families are aware of—and naturally stress over—the pivotal role that essays and applications play in the college admissions process. I focus on helping students maximize the unique platform that applications offer: the rare opportunity for teenagers to go beyond grades and test scores in order to talk about what matters most to them. Under my guidance, students learn to identify and articulate their dreams, challenges, and goals. One of the greatest joys of my job is helping students realize they have a unique and compelling story to tell.”

“It's fascinating to watch and listen as students begin to identify and articulate the “thing” that fuels and drives them. This can take some nudging, of course. In some cases, students have strong feelings about what their passion is or could be. Other times, and I would say in most cases, students are bewildered either because they have too many extra-curricular activities or because they have very few. Through conversation, we learn not only what a student thinks but also how he or she thinks—a very important distinction when brainstorming and writing essays. It’s a lot of fun learning what makes each of our students ‘tick.’ Because, ultimately, that is the thing that will make eyes widen and hearts flutter as admissions officers read their stories.”

“I enjoyed college admissions before I even recognized it as a potential career. As an undergraduate student at Boston College, I hosted prospective students and served as a volunteer in admissions. The truth is that admissions doesn’t have to be so stressful or complicated. My job is demystifying the process while helping applicants clearly and effectively showcase their talents and passions. I was a first-generation college student, so I take exceptional pride in helping students achieve their dreams.”
